If you have untreated water (spring, well, borehole, harvested rainwater or problems with your mains supply) you are very likely to have bacteria and/or virus in your water supply. We use a lot of water each day, some of which we ingest, so to have bacterial contamination is not the best position to be in, especially if you have very young or older members of the family who are also using the water. However it is relatively simple to treat your water.
UV disinfection is a proven, reliable and cost effective way of disinfecting water; not only is it more effective than traditional treatments, it is also an environmental responsible way of treating your water as there are no disinfection by-products. The use of UV, which is safe and chemical free, will not alter the water chemistry and its constituents, such as pH, taste, odour or colour.
HOW IT WORKS
UV systems can destroy 99.9% of harmful micro-organisms. The Ultraviolet, or “UV” is a type of energy found in the electromagnetic spectrum between X-rays and visible light; the UV energy attacks the core of the micro organism destroying the DNA (or RNA in the case of Viruses) basically making the micro-organism inactive. A UV system basically consists of a chamber, which houses a UV bulb, and around this is a sleeve, the water flows over the sleeve and the UV light penetrates through the water sterilising the microorganisms. It is recommended that at least one pre-filter is installed to filter the water down to 5 micron as any shadowing from sediment particles can stop the UV reaching the micro-organisms.
WHY BUY OURS
We have worked closely with our partners for many years developing and manufacturing the highest grade of UV sterilisation equipment available on the market. All of our units are engineered to the highest standard and we are constantly researching and looking at new techniques in this field of water sterilisation. Our systems employ a low-pressure mercury vapour discharge lamp surrounded by a water jacket whose inner wall is made from a specially developed UVC-transparent quartz structure. The lamp produces a very strong spectral line at 254nm in the shortwave region, which is the waveband most lethal to microorganisms.
Specifications
Equipped to inactivate chlorine-resistant parasites such as Cryptosporidium and Guardia, harmful bacteria like E.Coli and viruses not visible to the naked eye.
Specially designed and tested regular output lamp provides consistent and reliable ultra violet output over entire life of the lamp (9000 hours) to ensure continuous purification.
Inner quartz sleeve with highly polished quartz structure to provide optimum wavelength penetration.
The system is easy to maintain and service with easy lamp replacement.
Equipped with a slip connector that allows for easy removal of lamp without special tools, lamp can be changed without the water having to be switched off.
Built with a durable heavy duty 304 internal nano polished stainless steel chamber to prolong life and eliminate ultra violet degradation whilst allowing full refraction surface for the UV light providing constant contact levels of sterilisation.
CE ballast power supply, which has an audible alarm and visual indicator in the unlikely event of lamp failure.
