Ultra Violet (UV) Water Filter system RRP £299.95
Suitable for;
Well water,
water supplied from a borehole or a spring/stream,
harvested rainwater;
improving the quality of your mains supply
If you are looking to remove contamination such as bacteria and/or viruses from your water supply; if your water is not of the best quality or you want to protect vulnerable household members such as old, young or infirm, then UV treatment is an excellent solution.
UV disinfection is a proven, reliable and cost-effective way of disinfecting water. It is more effective than traditional treatments and it is also an environmentally responsible way of treating your water as thee are no disinfection by-products. UV is chemical free and safe. UV will not alter the water chemistry and its constituents such as pH, taste, odour or colour, as all remain unchanged.
HOW IT WORKS
UV systems can destroy 99.9% of harmful micro-organisms. Ultraviolet (UV) is a type of energy found in the electromagnetic spectrum between x-rays and visible light; the UV energy attacks the core of the micro-organism destroying the DNA (or RNA in the case of viruses) rendering the micro-organism inactive.
Our UV system consists of a medical-grade, nano polished stainless steel chamber which houses a UV lamp (the light bit that is sometimes referred to as a bulb) and a highly polished quartz sleeve. Water flows in the chamber allowing the UV light to penetrate the water, sterilising the micro-organisms. It is important that the water being treated is as clear as it can be, as sediment particles in the untreated water can cause shadowing and prevent the UV light from reaching the micro-organisms.
To this end, we always recommend that you install at least one pre-filter (down to 5-micron minimum).
WHY BUY OURS
We have worked closely with our partners for many years developing and manufacturing the highest grade of UV sterilisation equipment available on the market, all of our units are engineered to the highest standard and we are constantly researching and looking at new techniques in this field of water sterilisation. Our systems employ a low-pressure mercury vapour discharge lamp surrounded by a water jacket whose inner wall is made from a specially developed UVC-transparent quartz structure. The lamp produces a very strong spectral line at 254nm in the shortwave region, which is the waveband most lethal to microorganisms.
Specifications
Equipped to inactivate chlorine-resistant parasites such as Cryptosporidium and Guardia, harmful bacteria like E.Coli and viruses not visible to the naked eye.
A specially designed and tested regular output lamp provides a consistent and reliable ultraviolet output over the entire life of the lamp (9000 hours) to ensure continuous purification.
Inner quartz sleeve with highly polished quartz structure to provide optimum wavelength penetration.
The system is easy to maintain and service with easy lamp replacement.
Equipped with a slip connector that allows for easy removal of the lamp without special tools, the lamp can be changed without the water having to be switched off.
Built with a durable heavy-duty 304 internal nano polished stainless steel chamber to prolong life and eliminate ultraviolet degradation whilst allowing full refraction surface for the UV light providing constant contact levels of sterilisation.
CE ballast power supply, which has an audible alarm and visual indicator in the unlikely event of lamp failure.
