INTRODUCTION
Hard water, what it is.

Water is something we all take for granted. Turn on the taps and there it is. Safe to drink, safe to bathe in, safe to wash our clothes with. In fact water is so much a part of daily life that it's tempting to think that one drop of our tap water is very much like another. Unfortunately it isn't. The quality of our water varies enormously from region to region.

Many regions suffer from hardwater which causes limescale to form on shower heads, kettles, washing machines and other domestic appliances.

Chlorine is added to treated water before it reaches our homes. Chlorine is a very cost effective way of killing bacteria that may be present in tap water, but consuming too much chlorine can be, long term, very harmful. Other trace chemical elements may also be present in tap water which is why we believe a water filter is very beneficial.

Back in the 1980's EMWC linked together a 3 year water filter (System 40) and limescale eliminator (System 50) to give refreshing and clean tasting, limescale free water throughout the house. This system is called the 540 complete house. The running cost of the complete system is guaranteed less than £1.00 per week. Can easily be installed by a competent DIY person or our installation department.
